Terms and Community Rules
Polly is an app for learning English words. By using it you agree to these terms. The main rule: no abuse, profanity, spam or someone else’s content in public topics.
The app
Polly is made by brikks studio. The app is free and provided “as is”: we work to keep translations and examples accurate but don’t guarantee they are error-free or that the server is always available.
Your account
An account is optional. If you create one, use your own email and don’t share access. You must be at least 13. You can delete the account at any time: Profile → Delete account.
Your topics
Topics you create remain yours. By publishing a topic in the catalog you allow us to show it to other Polly users free of charge while it is published. You can unpublish or delete it at any time in the topic editor.
Rules for public topics
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content. Public topics must not contain:
- profanity, insults, threats or harassment;
- hate speech or discrimination of any kind;
- sexual content, violence or promotion of drugs;
- spam, advertising, links or scams;
- texts or materials you don’t have the rights to;
- other people’s personal data.
Moderation
- The app and the server refuse to publish a topic with profanity or slurs.
- Any topic by someone else can be reported with the flag button on its page. We review reports within 24 hours.
- A topic reported by several people leaves the catalog at once until it is reviewed.
- We remove topics that break the rules and block authors who break them again.
- You can hide any author: in the report sheet, choose “Скрыть все темы этого автора” (hide all of this author’s topics). Their topics will no longer appear in your catalog. You can bring them back in Profile.
Restrictions
Don’t disrupt the service, try to access other people’s data, scrape the catalog or use Polly for anything unlawful. We may restrict accounts that do.
Changes
If these terms change, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. By continuing to use Polly you accept the new version.
